Priscilla – Queen of the Desert musical premieres in Singapore!

Based on the 1994 Oscar-winning movie, Priscilla – Queen of the Desert, the musical continues to inspire and impress audiences with the gripping performance on stage 20 years later. Fresh from the Philippines, the musical performed to standing ovations for all 40 shows in the country. Resorts World Sentosa’s (RWS) Resorts World Theatre will be bringing the much-anticipated musical to our shores this October! The musical is slated to run from 16 – 26 October 2014.
Priscilla is the name of a run-down bus which three friends hopped on to journey to the Australian outback to perform at a far-flung casino. Tick, a famous drag artist in Sydney was invied by his wife to perform his famous drag show at her casino in Alice Springs in an attempt to revive the casino’s ailing business. Along with two other friends, Tick embarks on a road trip through the desert to begin a journey of self-discovery as well as a celebration of their true colours. This is a musical about friendship and living life to the fullest.
Joining the dazzling and stellar casts of Priscilla – Queen of the Desert the musical will be our local prolific performing artist, Jonathan Lim. Jonathan will be playing Miss Understanding, who will be opening the stage while belting out “It’s Raining Men”. Now that’s something that is going to be exciting!
In celebration of the friendship of the three main characters in the musical, RWS will be offering a promotional Threesome Friendship Price of 15% off ticket prices when purchased in sets of three or more via Sistic. As part of promotional activities, the cast will also be making a journey through Singapore, performing highlights from the show on Friday evenings. Members of the public who spot them will be entitled to a special promotional price of 10% off ticket prices!
