Explore Sunny Sydney in April

There’s nothing like the anticipation of going on holiday. And there’s nothing like a good pair sunnies and Sydney in April. We know, the ten-hour flight from SIN to SYD can be a turn-off but with so many airlines offering direct flights there’s no excuse to miss out.

Sydney, located in the state of New South Wales, generates around $30 billion annually in tourism, so don’t worry about not having enough to do. Sure, staples like the Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge make for great backdrops for selfies, but we have some cool suggestions.

Fashion Week

You don’t have to go to New York for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week when the shows will be in Sydney from April 12 – 16. These shows are known for discovering top designers and showcasing crowd favorites, including our very own Paul Nathaphol, who has represented Singapore in many countries.

Hoopla is not your typical circus. This dynamic three-tent show defies human strength and will have you gasping at the intricate routines. From stunts to a show that incorporates a forklift, it’s a must-see event that will go on from April 18 – 21. Plus, if daredevil acts are not your thing, you can still enjoy the firework show in Darling Harbour. With multiple state-of-the-art entertainment spots, over 24 restaurants and bars overlooking the waterfront, you can find a table to enjoy the fireworks while enjoying the company of friends. The fireworks will be featured on April 4, 11, 18 and 25.

The event will take place on April 18 at Parramatta Park.

The Rocky Horror Show will be in town from April 10 – 29. Called “the sexiest show,” Rocky Horror Show is critically acclaimed and has sold out in other cities throughout Australia this year. The show is about two clean-cut kids who run into Frankenstein place on their way to visit a professor, the rest is mayhem and lunacy that is sure to be a good time.

Of course, no holiday ‘down under’ is complete without a visit to the beach. Bondi beach is not only one of the most popular beaches but it’s also the one with the most things to do if sunbathing isn’t your thing. Home of the Vans Bowl-A-Rama skateboarding competition, Bondi beach offers an open-air market with heaps of cool and unique items, an outdoors cinema, surfing lessons and even cultural performances from Aboriginal artists. Known for being a hotbed for hipsters, surfers and young travelers, you will surely make new friends.
