On the 20th of June 2025, Art Works Gallery is holding an art auction to raise funds for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. Dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights and building a better future for refugees, UNHCR is a global organisation that was established at the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1950. Across the years, UNHCR has led international action to help and protect refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people. Art Works is delighted to host a charity art auction on World Refugee Day, raising both awareness and funds for an increasingly important cause. The auction will be an opportunity to highlight not only the breadth and depth of the current refugee crisis across the world, but also the battles that displaced communities face.
The auction will feature works by contemporary Singapore-based artists such as Andy Yang, Zhang Fuming, and Danielle Solk, as well as international artists like Sylvie Kettle and RizRizRizz. Andy Yang has been in numerous solo and group shows across Singapore, including multiple performances at major institutions such as the ArtScience Museum, the Asian Civilisation Museum, and the National Museum (of Singapore). Zhang Fuming has taken Singapore by storm with his signature woodcuts, preserving the traditions of the medium.
Fuming was also the recipent of the prestigious Young Artist Award in 2024 for his contributions to the visual art scene in Singapore. Cassi Young, Global Fine Art Director at Art Works, will be presiding as auctioneer, possessing a wealth of experience from previous roles at Bonhams and Christie’s in London.
