3 Teams to Check Out during the SEA Games

The 28th SEA games are coming up in Singapore next month and if you’re as excited as I am, let’s check out some of the teams who will be participating in the SEA games!

DIVING TEAM

Perhaps the most well-known divers are the diving twins Mark and Timothy Ng. “Presenting the ultimate portrait of symmetry, both on and off the sporting arena, the brothers form a fearsome pair on the springboards and are fast-rising stars on the international diving scene.”  Catch the twins along with Singapore’s diving team at the SEA Games, and prepared to get wowed as they execute their clean dives!

Another pair of siblings to take note will be Jonathan and Kimberly Chan, who are competing in 10m platform individually in the upcoming SEA Games. They were both training as gymnasts before, so we’ll be able to catch their twists!

There will be 8 Diving events, 4 each for the men and women, held at the OCBC Aquatic Centre.

  1. 3m Springboard

  2. 10m Platform

  3. 3m Synchronised Springboard

  4. 10m Synchronised Platform

NETBALL TEAM

In the last SEA Games that Singapore netball team participated in, they won themselves a silver medal. From 31st May to 7th June, the Singapore netball team will be competing in the SEA Games this year in their home country.

VOLLEYBALL TEAM

Singapore’s volleyball team is indeed a team to look out for, because the men’s team was scrapped last year by Volleyball Association of Singapore (VAS), and the cited reason was a lack of commitment from them. The mens’ team had to fight very hard to be able to take part in the SEA Games this year.

Although Singapore’s men’s national team have only had five months’ of preparations for the Games, national assistant coach Teo Siew Lan, 55, believes their determination to seize this second chance will make up for their relative lack of experience and technique.
