Island Wines

Take the road less travelled and discover delicious food and wine on the Kangaroo Island Farm Gate and Cellar Door Trail.  The trail introduces visitors to the passionate producers and their products.  Enjoy the rich fruits of Kangaroo Island producers’ labours in your own time in a natural unspoilt environment. Farm gate and cellar door locations are listed separately and alphabetically. Each has its own specialities and personality. Refer to the guide for individual opening times. Choose your own, guided by the listed farm gate and cellar door venues, and mix in a splash of art, scenery and natural delights.

Tasty Oysters

Do not go home without visiting The Oyster Farm Shop at American River, Kangaroo Island. The largest commercial oyster farm on the island, and also the processing and packaging facility for KI’s shellfish – it’s the perfect location to learn more about one of the world’s most unpolluted and intact marine environments. It also showcases the island’s  aquaculture and local sustainable seafood including Kangaroo Island Abalone, King George whiting, Marron, smoked Barramundi, smoked oysters and the largest range of locally made sauces and condiments. When visiting, make sure you stop in for lunch and choose from the Chill and Grill menu or gather up a feast of island produce to enjoy at your accommodation.
