On a South Australian cycling holiday, you are part of the picture, not just an observer.

City Cycling

Start your cycling adventure with a free cycling experience in Adelaide City with Bike SA. The scheme, sponsored by the Adelaide City Council, is a beautiful and convenient way to get around the city. Bike SA also has a range of hybrid and off-road bikes available for multi-day hire. There are a total of seven nodes spread across Adelaide. A city bike can be hired at any of the participating nodes during their opening hours. A list of the nodes can be found at the SA website.

Scenic Ride

The Riesling Trail is one of the first rail-trails to be developed in South Australia. The trail runs for 35 kilometres from Auburn to Clare and onto Barinia. It is suitable for recreational walkers, mountain and touring bikes, as well as wheelchairs and pushers. Bike hire is now available from Clare and Auburn, and many bed and breakfasts in the region. As you traverse the picturesque region, you will discover many cellar doors and other attractions. There are three loop trails, which allow you to return to your starting point without travelling over old ground. Car parking is available in Clare, Sevenhill, Watervale and Auburn.

Coast to Vines

A fantastic way to relax and explore a country, explore The Coast to Vines Trail for a great day or weekend destination in the Fleurieu Peninsula. From the coastal suburb of Marino to the rural beauty of the Willunga Township, the Trail offers a scenic and easy ride along the former rail corridor. Take in spectacular vineyard vistas and changing landscapes as you make your way through the renowned McLaren Vale wine district. With historic towns such as Old Reynella and Willunga, there are plenty of good places to stay and eat. The Trail is managed by the Cities of Onkaparinga and Marion. It is 37 kilometres in total length.
