Peach Blossoms and the cheesy CNY Surprise

The celebrated Chinese restaurant nested in Marina Mandarin musters a scrumptious and luxurious menu this year to usher the Chinese New Year. Peach Blossoms’ Chinese New Year menu is packed with courses that bodes good health and wealth. We pick out some of the highlights from the menu:

  1. Double-boiled Superior Bird’s Nest with Morchella (S$88/pax)

This soup is very light and clean, with a distinct taste from the double-boiling for hours. The whole piece of bird’s nest gives the clear soup a faint, yet sweet lingering taste to it. Also, the soup comes with the generous portion of bird’s nest, this should leave many beauty-conscious people satisfied!

  1. Peach Blossoms Imperial Sea Treasures Pot (S$528/5pax, S$898/10pax)

A pot of grandiose, this Imperial Sea Treasures Pot promises to exceed expectations. The pot comes with whole abalones, fish maw, sea cucumber, dried scallops, goose web, flower mushrooms, pig’s trotter, dried oyster, black moss and shark’s fin, all in a flavourful, braised sauce, over slow heat for hours. Collagen-overload haven, my favourite of all in the pot would be the succulent pig’s trotter!

  1. Steamed Cheese Nian Gao (One box, a pair, S$36.80)

Works both as a savory and sweet dessert, this unique creation may be acquired to some. There are strips of cheese within that gives the glutinous goodness a faint cheese taste. For those seeking more flavours, it comes with powdered cheese for you to dip in.

Peach Blossoms uses the traditional culinary skills to elevate their dishes, serving up some really interesting dishes to usher the new year. The extravagant ingredients used bodes well for a prosperous year ahead for diners this festive season.
