What you can expect at Halloween Horror Nights 4

The best Halloween experience yet, Universal Studios Singapore serves up their most intense experience in their 4th instalment of the signature event in Resort World Sentosa.

It is practically impossible to finish all the 4 movie-quality and immersive haunted houses and scare-zones from 7.30pm to 1.30am. You will have to beat the crowd and queues, and also strategize on the houses that you will want to visit first. Heads up, we give you the highlights of each haunted house and the scare-zones. Each of it comes with a different scare theme; this is where you need to strategize on which to go first!

Jack’s 3-Dementia (Sound Stage 28)

A literal funhouse gone wrong, the haunted house is plagued with demonic looking clowns. It is definitely the most immersive experience you can get. Hopping on the 3D bandwagon, this haunted house is nothing short of a phantasmagorical experience. It plays hard on your illusion, and it is almost impossible to tell the real clowns from the digital ones.

Highlight: The “bridge” near the end of the house is the most impressive highlight of the house – people with vertigo may find it a little disorienting.

Jing’s Revenge (Sound Stage 28)

A haunted house the backdrop of a school, an outcast student called Jing hung herself 10 years ago in the premise. A haunted school is what everyone can relate to. Be prepared to see ghoulish teachers and students. Oh, and a haunted toilet of a haunted school, that’s beyond.

Highlight: Nearing the end is a surprise – you will eventually find out Jing’s fate. It is both disheartening and disturbing.

Mati Camp (Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure Back-of-House)

The haunted house that most NS men can relate, here is mostly about the torturing of soldiers, in a rather gruesome manner indeed. You may witness cannibalism and mutilation, which can be a little unnerving for some.

Highlight: The lighted walkway towards the end is a path of uncertainty.

The L.A.B. (WaterWorld, entry via Scary Tales)

1 (3)

L.A.B, abbreviation for Laboratory of Alien Breeding, is the haunted house only for those with a strong stomach. Expect pretty impressive and gory sets in the house itself, coupled with human-alien hybrids in experiments gone wrong, and extra-terrestrial beings.

Highlight: The grisly meat train segment, where it plays hard on your claustrophobic fears and stomach for gory images.

There will be scare zones here and there around the premise itself. Most of them are not as scary probably because of its open concept where there is a larger space for you to roam and run around. It is also a place where you can actually take flash photography with friends and family. The scare zones are namely Demoncracy (New York), Bogeyman (Sting Alley), Canyon of the Cursed (Ancient Egypt) and Scary Tales (Lost World).

A thoroughly engaging visual fest, the circus offers aerial acrobats, contortionists, extreme stunt specialist and more. Expect a blend of fun and fear as each act brings you the different form of entertainment. You will either be cheering in awe or squirming in pain!
